I use this book in an intro graduate class for beginning MPA students. The feedback is excellent. The book gives them a global, long-term perspective that creates a better understanding of the power of public service. Many move from seeing their careers as isolated in local areas to viewing themselves as connected and empowered to influence and implement policy through their work in government and non-profits.
